WAAAAAH ! :so-sad: You didn't ask the grade of my MTT - but you had no problem guessing the price of that one. Neither did anyone else. I'm feeling neglected :so-sad:

    I'll guess $125 Bud ;)

That's a gorgeous coin by the way ! :thumb:

I like the Jefferson Nickel but the toning pattern is very unusual and I think some collectors may not be a fan of that type of toning. On the other hand, some might go crazy over it. Since it was not an auction, I will say that you paid a fair price of $75 for it.

    Probably just me, but:
1 - I never pay any premium for a raw toner, and am making a leap that neither did Bud.
2 - I don't like woody toning that runs one direction on the obv and another direction on the rev... makes me think it's more environmental or AT than anything in the alloy.
    ...... just the rule I run with ; )

I would normally agree with you. But with this coin, I don't think that's "woody" toning at all. I don't think it has anything to do with an improperly mixed alloy. I think that's just how the coin toned and I believe it to be 100% NT.

Like Doug says, I am not sure that is a woodie, but you need to think through the alignment of those lines. I think both of you should be able to see that they are absolutely dead aligned between the sides. The obv is 30° above the horizontal and the rev is 30° below the horizontal. That is what happens when you flip the coin over.

I had absolutely no suspicion that this coin wasn't 100% NT .

I like the toning -- unusual but seems natural. However, because it is toned and raw, I have to discount it a bit for not being in a holder (by which I mean I have no idea how NGC or PCGS would treat it). So I am guessing $52.50 and I have no idea how much of a premium that is for toning.

Also, a big welcome to Disruptek. I have bought a few coins from him and his wife (a nice lady). A very good dealer who I wish would develop a website rather than waste his time on E-Bay.

Well, a lot of people were withing a decent range so I'm gonna let it go. Lehigh96 was the 1st to guess $75 (then Duke) . That was within $6 , I paid $69 for the coin.

So the floor is yours Leigh69.

Here is a Morgan Dollar with an obverse dominated by both emerald green and magenta. The Numismedia Wholesale value is $38.

This should be an interesting coin.

I think you can throw out that Numismedia price right out the window. I think that the emerald green being almost 50% of the obverse sky rockets the Toning enthusiasts interest in this coin, and the fact that it is all one sided makes it even more unique. I'll venture a guess of 12X BID . That is a spectacular coin in my book!!!

Why so cheap? Invisible coins ought to go at least 50X face - maybe even 100X.
