Mary Todd Lincoln

    Is anyone buying tomorrow? I guess with the price of gold being as high as it is it will not sell out but I seem to think that anything Lincoln is usually a winner. I think I am in for one.

    They won't sell out tomorrow and they still won't be sold out 11 months from now. The Mint can't even sell out the more popular Liberty designs, even with the reduced max mintages. Sure, Lincoln is usually a winner, but that applies to Abraham Lincoln. If Abe were featured in the reverse design on this one it may have a better chance, but I don't know too many Abe Lincoln collectors getting excited about an $800+ coin of his wife.

    I really don't see a whole lot of people actually collecting the whole series that aren't extremely well-to-do. At the premium the mint gets for these, I don't see them as a great investment. Sure they will go up as the price of gold does, but so do many other gold coins with far less mark up. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from buying though...
