I'm on the a steep learning curve because I really don't collect any silver....just what falls into my hand while getting change. That being said.....I really like the look of this coin because to me, it's freakin spectacular. Given the opportunity, I'd toss my ex mother in law under a bus and made sure she had $275 in her hand for a chance to own that....I'm just sayin...
Finding a toned 1961 Proof Franklin Half Dollar is rather easy. And this one is an extremely low grade of PF62. I'm gonna go low on this one. My guess is $21.
Unfortunately I remember your post, that coin interested me also so I'll sit this dance out. (nice pickup btw)
I would say $40 because its nice color but I would have liked a higher grade or more even color. If that color was even I bet Lehigh would be all over it.
Glad to see someone else step out into the three figure range! I think we're going to lose though, Mark.
My $175 guess was on the previous coin, the 1879 $1. I'll guess a slightly lower $18 on the Franklin half.
Ill go $20 bucks on the Frankie and would have peg the 1879-S at $150 but it's already posted so I get zero credit
Evening everyone,,, guess the 24 hour clock on this one has expired.... I like this coin for a couple of reasons. 1 - to me at least, it's the most stunning toner I've seen. The proof surfaces really make the color pop when the light is right... 2 - I got it for $13.34 delivered from the 'bay.,, which makes Krypton the winner ! .. I'd like to know what Krypton thinks of this one, actual market value for the toner that is. I think Lehigh said these are common,, well I've been searching ebay, teletrade, heritage every week since I picked this one up, looking to put together a set of similar looking franky proofs and haven't found a one yet..... at least that compares to this one, or would even remotely mate with it in a set. I do have one another coming in from the 'bay that may be nice also,, will have to see when it arrives. edited Cheers ! Krypton,,, u'r up ! .... and good call on the guess. The pic in the auction for this coin was a scan,, and did not show the color well at all, except for some slight blue in and around the cheek,,,, I took a chance that there was more there... and am very much more than happy with my purchase,,, it's these type of buys that keep me searching ebay in my spare time.
