i remember seeing stuff this guy put here and i always thought it was fake, i did not know him as i just joined not long ago but saw many posts. so you can think this was the case as he seems to have left. i am not trying to knock the guy by any means i could be very wrong.

i am pretty new here and new to collecting coins and have a paper money interest. i could be wrong but have my own thoughts i suppose.
does anyone know for sure if all that was real and true.

Hey guys, Rick is doing alright. I spoke with him a few weeks back.

He indicated to me that he has some other priorities to attend to and will not necessarily be a regular on the forum.

Rick has been an inspiration to me in helping me take my first steps into currency. A great friend and encouraging force to other collectors.

Not knockin' the guy? Sure sounds like it new guy. RickyB is a valued and well respected member of this forum who has tutored and helped newbies and seasoned collectors alike. He's a wonderful well loved person and I take exception to what you have posted. You owe this gentleman an apology.

Not saying anything would have been a great idea.

I'm sure Rick would be very pleased by those who have responded regarding his absence but that he wouldn't wish this thread to turn into anything else. It's especially not the way to leave a mark on a post about him when he's no longer minding the threads and can't speak for himself. Like I said above, he's doing alright just not active on here as before and has needed to attend to other priorities. I hope we can just let the previous comment rest now that the grievance has been sorted. Knowing Rick, I feel certain, that he wouldn't want this to persist in this fashion. :thumb:

RickeyB is doing great - well, as great as can be. The docs give him great odds for beating his illness, but as Rickie says - it will always be lurking. RickieB, the misses and (not so -) little AJ are going fine and tending to Rickie as best they can while he fights like a bandit to kick this things behind! He misses all his friends on the forums and wishes he had the time and energy to continue sharing with all of us as we all share our exciting finds, additions and comments.

While RickieB may not post in the forums, he will never be gone! He has helped alot of us learn, grow and helped many become interested in this hobby. When i first started on CT, i was practically the only person browsing the paper money forum. A single post every couple/few days was the biggest action i saw here. Then RickieB came along. I am not dissing anyone else, but IMHO RickieB brought more to the PM forum than any of us. He brought energy, a depth of knowledge, and so many high end notes, few of us will every match. RickieB was one of the most generous individuals i know. Dozens of us were recipients of winnings from his contests or giveaways or just his goodwill. He loved, and still loves the hobby. He will always cherish that which he achieved with his collection. I am proud of his achievement here on Cointalk. Wihout his friendly personality, i often wonder how many familair faces we would see hear......

RickieB is doing well, and my prayers go to him and his family that he endures a long life with his wife and son!

I hope his legacy of friendliness, the aptitude to learn and help others learn and grow, all prosper and thrive in this community and the hobby as a whole. He IS a good friend to many of us, and a teacher to even many more. I know few if any that dont look up to him as an individual, as a collector, as a friend!
