5 boxes? $500? That isn't much to show for all that work, especially with the pre-60's. No war nickels?

 

It's not work if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt. And all it takes is one find to make it all worthwhile. Mine was the 1988 D RDV-006 this year. 1 of the 10 known. When it was Graded by ANACS it was AU55, #2 of the population report with none shown higher (total pop report shows 3 coins) I am anxious to get to the next box, hoping to find another, or something else. But I don't consider it "work". lol

 

I was just starting to think when I was going thru the boxes that maybe all the searching I have been doing since I started is now catching up to me meaning ive searched about 100 boxes give or take 20 boxes and I think the pond for old stuff around here is almost been fished out might have to start doing just half dollars im still going to order 5 boxes next month if I get the same results well I think I will switch unless something changes

 

did a box of nickels got 1 silver 42 and a 1939 aswell no mint mark . I also got around 15 1947-59

 

Halfway thru one of my 2 boxes of halves, got 5 40% and 1 90%, plus an 09D. Looks like a good box.

 

Found a MS 1973 Nickel in 3 rolls

 

First box of halves down, it was pretty good:

Nothing yet out of the 2nd box, but, even if its blank, the 1st makes up for it.

My wife found 2 Franklin Half Dollars in Circulation and about 20 wheat cents various dates. She has a good eye for them and works in a job where she sees quite a bit of change.

 

1 box of nickels got a 1945 and some few 1940s-50s

 

Got two 90%'s halves in this last box. I am getting my dump system down and am trying to get a 1 box Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the same $500. I've been bagging $80 in halves and dumping them. The Penny Arcade at TD Bank's only holds $100 in halves. I like to get in and out and not have them need to empty the halves bag everytime I am there.

 

I am going to Atlantic City this weekend. I tried searching this forum and the internet but couldn't find much info on whether or not casinos still use half-dollars and if they do is there any chance of finding silver. Any info is appreciated...thanks.

 

Tried that at the casino near Harrisburg (newer casino) and they don't do change anymore. All cards, cash, and vouchers anymore. I was bummed since getting change was my main reason for going. My sister won $100 though so it wasn't all bad.
