I recently created a 2011 9/11 Medal Pattern in Photoshop and it turned out great! I am mailing a photo of it to the Mint tomorrow asking them if it possibly could be a design candidate for the medal next year (most likely not). I want your opinion, though: If you had to choose a design for a coin or medal honoring 9/11, would you choose my design? If you vote no, I don't mind, I just want to see your opinions. Here's the medal: Thanks for the input! -Coinmaster1
Nice design, but without knowing what others there are then I can not say yes positively. I do think yours is pretty nice.
It's not bad. I'm one that thinks less wordage is better, so maybe eliminate a lot of that and it would look great. Everyone knows the date relating to the event without having to see it. I do like the perspective though. Who knows, maybe the mint might wake up to the idea that art exists outside their little realm and open things back up to public competition once again. Guy
I love that design. Of course I would have to see the other designs to make a decision though. But I do LOVE that design.
Good effort and gosh we should have a coin commemorating that horrible event. Thank you for thinking about the event and maybe even creating the idea to issue such a coin. I bet there would be certain elements within our country who would think this is offensive to certain people. I wonder if the mint is even contemplating such a coin. BTW, I bet a coin like this would be a big hit !!!!!!
The mint has already decided to create a medal in 2011 commemorating 9/11, so I thought that I'd give a try at the design, and I think it turned out nice.
Get rid of one date... just leave the top date. What about on one of the sides this picture??? Or would it lose too much detail when stamped?
I'll work on Photoshopping that tomorrow to see how it looks. I will post it here. Great idea, DuramaxMike90!
I will try the pic posted by DuramaxMike90, and if that doesn't work, it will probably be either the Pentagon or Shanksville, PA.
That's pretty good. The only change that I think might be considered is changing "9/11/2011" to just "2011". I felt that might be a better balance ? But I am not artistic at all. gary
I would definately vote for yours. It is unique, and very simple. Almost every other picture, puzzle, painting, or other memorial looks the same. I'm glad to see a different (and better) design than what I'm getting so accustomed to seeing.
