I bought another beautiful 1857 Bank Of Upper Canada Token today at the show.

I have to play around with the lighting because the iridescent toning is incredible.

I was never much into Canadian coins, until recently when i picked up three incredible toned commemorative dollars. That token is really nice too! I just may keep buying some Canadians :smile

Get them while the prices are low!

These tokens in AU used to be $30 or so. Now they're in the $70 - $100 and higher grades are over $300.

    $30? Heck, I remember $10...

All areas of collecting are moving upwards. For one thing, eventually, you have enough Buffalo Nickels and Morgan Dollars, so serious collectors look for new pursuits.

Of all the coins in the world these Bank of Upper Canada tokens are unsurpassed as medallic stikes. Even in VF, they look stunning compared the run of the mill of other coins.

    Wow

Wow ikandiggit.... that is gorgeous. Very beautiful coin, great design, and fantastic condition. Here is my nicest Upper Canada Bank Token... it pales in comparison to yours, I got it maybe 5 years ago for $5 at my local coin shop.

Your new coin is quite beautiful, the detail on the cornucopiae is amazing!

I love those tokens! Most of mine are holed junk though.

    Thanks!

I now have two of these in this grade and I'm so tempted to pick up the uncirculated one but it's in the $300 range. They look amazing it top condition. But, still, $300!?

Yeah, $300 is quite a chunk of change.... Where is it that you are considering buying the unc one from? Your local coin shop? or online?

My dealer. He only sells at shows but he'll deliver to me if the price is right. Because he travels he does a lot of buying in places I wouldn't have access to, so I give him a shopping list and he keeps his eyes open. So far he hasn't failed me. But it sure can get expensive!

Very nice one! I still need to pick up a higher grade one of those. I have a couple but they are mid grade.

I have never come across one that nice. That one is stunning!! Also a great way to get a coin with St George and the Dragon on it without having to get a gold sovereign!! Of course in MS condition the prices may be about the same! :D

I'm pretty thrilled with having these. The gold ones are sweet but I should have bought one last year. I'd like to find a matching half penny in the same grade. That's on my list for the show at the end of the month.

I have a few but mine are really shabby! I do have the One Penny and the Half Penny, but compared to yours you have Victoria's Secret models and I have the girl on the corner models! Yours are the true babes!!:D
