I've wanted one of these ever since they started waffling them. I wish there was a way to tell what was wrong with it before it was waffled though. That would be cool.

 

Ya, I picked this one up (graded) for $25. I love it cause you can still identify it pretty well.

There's a large show coming to Winnipeg in a week or so. I'm going to see if there's any there to pick up.

 

i thought it was borderline illegal to have these. arent they supposed to "poof" dissapear?

 

I was given one as a gift from another collector. The MO SQ is the only one I've seen. Are there waffles of any other states?

Its the same here, its been like this on a few threads I've seen. Have to scroll like wayyyyy over.

As for it's illegalness, its not illegal since the coin has been 'cancelled' and therefore isn't technically money anymore.

Yes, waffles were done in 2003! Were any done after that? I heard the US Mint stopped the practice! When they first came out they didn't cost too much. Like everything else the prices are skyrocketing!! Nice one!
