I have a guy wants me to quote him a price on $250 dollar face value washington quarters. I was wondering what I should tell him I'd buy them for. Anybody have any knowledge about them?

    thanks,

You could realistically get around 3800-4000 bucks for that, so judge your offer accordingly

Most coin stores would offer $3,000 right now I think.
But you might want to go more...

I can appreciate the OP interest to be ethical. I like the responses too. The Junk quarters sound nice to listen to when dropping into a bag or running my fingers through.

A dealer here might go as high as $2500. lol You should be able to go a lot better than that and still be OK. I am got 16x + on eBay and Silver just took another jump.

If they are in good condition, then 4,000 seems fair. (16 times face).

Additional Opinion: Take your time and inspect the coins and make sure they are pre-'64. It may have been an isolated incident but I have heard of a private sale that occurred recently like this one and the buyer was too nice to inspect and found that the bag had quite a few clads in it. Seller probably didn't intend to decieve, but just for me, I'd be sure to take my time and go in "eyes-open".

I think 15X to 15.5 X is fair at $22 or so Silver
