Does anyone know where you can find prices on this? my wife found it the other day at work. It is an A but is in poor condition. it think it is a 56 silver $1.

I figured given condition it was worth maybe 2 or 3 bucks if that. still a neat find.

Probably a Fr-1620 Series 1957 A Silver Certificate, not a '56. This is a very common series with 1,594,080,000 printed!

Post a scan of the note if you can or a photo so we can judge better, but if circulated, you are probably right about the value.

You can look on eBay and search 'completed auctions' on the 'advance search' page to see what they have been selling for lately in various grades.

The price for these are very condition sensitive, and in poor condition it's probably worth around $2. These are very common notes, very cool find if pulled from circulation, but not much of a premium.

Very common note......I actually saw some sell on eBay for .99 cents with .75 cents shipping. The AVERAGE selling price is propably around $1.75.

    57, not 56.

Nice find, but not worth more than $1.50 or so in the condition you mention.

I own nothing fancy - but this is the best condition note (silver) that I have Scan_Pic0054.jpg

I am still adjusting to posting photos/scans

Even really nice notes like this can be purchased at a reasonable price. Seems to me that the small-sized market is down right now, and it's a "buyers" market

That is not a low serial number and values around $30-40 bucks, depending on TPG. Check eBay, I found some pretty nice examples.

I bought each one of these in THREE consecutive auctions off of eBay in May, 2009, ($19.80, $18.50, and $21.50).
