Finally! Summer break is over and the dealers are coming back to Rochester for the first coin show since June! The show is tomorrow, and I'm going to try and get a 1982-P No P Dime that I talked about in a recent thread (The guy wanted $200 bucks for it. I only had $185 left and he still wouldn't sell it to me)! Wish me luck, and I'll let you know what I get! :smile

Here's what I'm bringing to the show:

    -My literally 9-page Want List!

    -Cash!

-16x Loupe (Hoping to get a 40x at the show)!

-1 Item to Sell (1913 $5 Gold Indian)!

-My First Error Dicovery Piece (Going to consign it to a dealer to have it attributed. It is a 2007-P Cent with a few errors on the obverse with possible doubling. My first error discovery! I found it in a roll. :D )

    Wish me luck!

So I just got back from the show and I'm very happy with what I got! I sold my 1913 Indian Head $5 Gold, and got $315 for it (current melt value :D ). I left the show with 100 bucks. Here's what I got:

-1863 Civil War Token, Eagle & Shield, XF+, Paid $32
    -Cherrypicker's Guide, 5th Edition, Vol. 1, paid $35
-Roosevelt Dime Proofs for my Dime Book (1968-S Proof to 2002-S Proof, No Silver Proofs Purchased yet), Paid Almost $100
    -1954-PD&S, 1955-PD, 1956-D, 1957-PD, 1958-D, 1959-D, 1960-PD, 1961-P Proof and D, 1962-P Proof and D, 1963-P Proof and D, and 1964-P Proof Dimes for my Dime Book, Paid ? I lost count :D
-2010-D Grand Canyon Satin Finish Quarter, Paid $2
-2010-D Mount Hood Satin Finish Quarter, Paid $2
-2010-P&D Satin Finish Shield Cents, Paid $1 each
And my favorite item of the day, something that I have been searching for for 2 years, one with just the right condition and price:
    1837 Half Cent Token F-15, Paid $125

I almost bought that 1982-P No P Dime NGC MS-65 again, but by the time I got to the guy's table, I had only 100 bucks. :( If only...

I think this has been one of my best coin show trips yet! :D

Can you post a pic of that token? Is it a Hard Times token?

    Good luck at your show.
Friday I take the train up to Philly for the Whitman show.
Gonna try and convince a dealer that they are asking too much for a coin on their website.
They came down over $200 but the price is still more than any retail price I can find.
I need them to come down another $300 and it will still be higher than most retail prices I can find.
But from the pics it's a nice coin. Hard to find.
I'll check a few other sources at the show and maybe I'll find that their price IS reasonable.

How much does a train cost up to Philly? I had planned on driving up Saturday morning from North Bethesda. Hadn't thought of a train ride though.

No, the one below (The example below isn't my coin, it is just the same type of coin that I have. I didn't have access to a camera at the moment. Mine isn't in as good quality as the one below. I will post my own picture tomorrow):

$65 roundtrip from DC to Philly per amtrak website. Nice train ride if you haven't done that. That is for the regional train, not the Acela high speed... that would be more like 200 (it is sweet tho)

The closer to the date of the trip you get, the more the ticket costs.
So I made my reservation about a month ago.
Plus I get a senior citizen discount so my round trip cost less than $100.

    I'll be there Friday.
