Thought you should know that there is another 1893/2 Dime in PCGS 58 coming up at auction at Heritage - I believe for Coinfest in Conn in October... check it out. Good luck !!
I paid $95 to a dealer named Chris Young (a heck of a nice dude) @ FUN 2007. It's roughly XF, and I overpaid (happily).
I've picked up a few nice upgrades for my Barber sets in the last few months: Also a couple of nice Liberty Head [ Barber ] Nickels for my AU 58 collection:
Welcome, Thecointrader. Thanks for showing us your beautiful Eliasberg Barbers !! Now that you're no longer lurking - please show off your other Barbers . I can't get enough of them !! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's an unusual Quarter I just picked up. Its Breen #4159. 1898-S/O
The Barber King, Mike, has seen these before, but I'd thought I'd add them to the thread anyway. A little color here and there, and a whole lot of crustiness...... (Pics by Todd - click on the pics twice for a big view)
Elbesaar great photos, thanks. but... what is that tot he left of the D in Dollar? die gouge? or something strange. Interesting, very interresting
I looked at that area with a 10X - and its a toning void; the mark on the D of Dollar is a small tick.
Hi Catbert - Its always a pleasure seeing your coins - don't be shy - post as many as you'd like. My cousin has asked me to put together a nice mid range cost set of 1893 coins for his about to be 17 yr old daughter. I was lucky to have a duplicate Dime in AU 58 - and I just picked up a Quarter in 40:
900Fine - You're right - that is a "lovely little half". Great toning and I can only imagine all the cartwheel luster booming underneath. Very nice looking coin - especially for a MS 63.
