He can't proof anything rockdude. He's probably hiding and planning his next "bash" attempt....LOL
What a loser and poor way of learning anything.

Although the Blakesley effect is a good indication of a clip it does not always appear on the struck coin. Your coin has what looks like someone hammered the rim, it also is not across from the imagined clip but off to the side further indicating postmint damage.

The coin looks genuine to me but the only way to be sure is with "in hand" examination.

From what I understand, all the "identifiers" and "diagnostics" for an incomplete planchet can either be there or not be there. Some may be present or even none may be present.

I reviewed an article in the Errorscope and it did state that these coppernickel coins will have a distinct diagnostic inside the actual clip which is directly related to the punching process.

Typically, the edge of a coppernickel coin will display all three layers of sandwiching as "nickel layer/copper core/nickel layer" with one side (obv or rev) always showing a bit more thickness of nickel.

In a true coppernickel incomplete planchet, this effect will be reversed due to the punching process and the reaction of those layers to that process.

In other words, if the thickest appearing nickel layer is on the obverse side of the coin, inside the missing area (clip), the thickest appearing nickel layer will be on the reverse side of the coin.

This is caused by the stretching of the nickel layer on both the planchet and the strip. On the planchet, the nickel layer in direct contact with the Ram punch shears off cleanly. The nickel layer in direct contact with the form, which is what the Ram punch pushes the planchet through, shears off cleanly. The unsupported nickel layers stretch over the copper core causing the appearance of differing thickness. This basically means that nickel layer on the bottom of the planchet stretches up over the planchet while the top nickel layer of the strip stretches down into the punched out edge.

On the OP's coin, I cannot see the reeded edge of the coin in ANY of the photo's to determine if this might be an authentic clip.

    Refer to Errorscope Vol 18 No 1 Jan/Feb 2009.

The clip is genuine. The letters of E PLURIBUS UNUM are stretched out (metal flow), there's a weakening of the rim opposite the clip (Blakesley effect), and the edge shows the normal cut-and-tear texture.

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say. It is a nice coin and was in better shape than the OP posted.

First of all, Rigo... I stopped replying to any of your posts of the other [insult removed] that you pal around with from your other site for the only reason that the owner of this site told me that if I got any more threats from any of you guys, (you know on my private message board) that I should report you. I have bitten my tongue because I am a better person than to stoop to your level. If people want to buy the crap you Artificially tone(another subject , I know) , then let them, but I am not going to participate in any conversation that you are part of. Except this one. And please keep out of mine. I know this post says otherwise, but look at the date. MAY 2010. I am over it.

And thank you Mr. Diamond and others for your opinions. I really do appreciate them.

Then if you were a better person you would keep my name out of your cheap threads and by the way, I never send you any private messages. Now that would be a real waste of time.
