Picked this one up recently - I am somewhat torn between keeping the original pliofilm set intact or snipping out the 1-cent error, and sending it to PCGS (probably would grade PL-66 or better)...

    What would you do??

Worth more in the set to most collectors - how often do you see an obvious error in a proof-like set?

Hi SPP-O => ummm, what exactly is the error? (is it merely edge-damage to a coin that is supposed to be uncirculated?)

... if so, then I would definitely keep it in the foil, for once you removed it, all you'd have is a penny with a damaged edge ... right? (or is the error something different that I'm not comprehending?)

Steve, it is a coin struck on a clipped planchet (there is even a Blakesley Effect on the coin) - not something you see everyday in a proof-like strike, let alone in an original pliofilm set.
