the last one I came up with was hard, took some math skills, etc. this one should be easier for those with computer skills. what is the oldest coin to achieve a perfect "70" grade from NGC or PCGS? not going to count the other TPGs in this. doesn't matter if it is proof, business strike, etc. just as long as it is a 70. it seems that only modern coins make that high of a grade. i am curious if anyone can hunt this one down. and lets not try to read to deeply into this or find all kinds of problems with the wording. its a simple question.
I believe PCGS graded a few 1960 dimes as proof 70. Just a wild guess. TC Edited 1961 to 1960 based on Paul's post.
The quarter was the earliest NGC coin I could find. Seems that PCGS has issued a whole bunch of PR70s to coins earlier than 1964. There are a dime and cent from 1960. 1960 10C PR70 PCGS
