    The coins are Chinese and are the same.

    Both coins have the inscription guang xu tong bao (光绪通宝) and were struck at the mint in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province during the years 1890-1899 of the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (Emperor De Zong) of the Qing Dynasty.
