png is actually better for the archived copy of a photo you have. To get the photo under size for uploading here, you are better off THEN converting after to JPEG after resizing. The JPEG format is called a LOUSEY compression format because it looses image information each time you alter and save the image.

PS - This is one reason why it is better to just copy and rename a graphic from a digital camera rather than saving it under a new name with an image program.

Rather than trying to find a program to reduce the size of your images, try this: www.imageshack.us
Free image hosting. They allow large photos and will resize them if they are too big. No sign-up is required. In my opinion, the best image hosting there is.

Hi ! Speedy,
Have the rules changed on posting pictures ? When I click on the clip to insert photo, it ask me for an HTTP link. How do I get around the link and go to find pictures like I did in the past ?

Are you clicking that in the Quick Reply box?? If so then that is the reason. Click on Go Advanced and then down the page to Mannage Attactments

How do I post a picture by my user name? I tried again today but got a picture by my signature where I wanted it by my name.
