I was at work when they called me to the back to look at a odd looking bill. (Known as a coin person) Someone during the day spent a red seal '53 five dollar bill. It was very worn, an had been marked with the counterfeit pen. Probably only worth a few cents above face. But still who spends them?(okay I do but just to mess with the young cashiers) The cash office person decide to buy it out of the till after finding out it was real.
It's the holiday season and many people may be spending old notes to pay for gifts they might not be able to afford otherwise. Nice find ~ will not be surprised to here more stories like this over the next few weeks.
Someones's Dad is going to be pretty upset!!! LOL...who knows, when things get tight all kind s of notes and coins come out! RickieB
My wife works at Wendy's and one day in she took an order from a couple of kids that paid for it by giving her 2 AU Peace dollars a fairly worn Morgan and some silver dimes. I imagine that somes parents were a victim and probably not too happy when they find those coins missing.
