or you could let Q. David Bowers do your research for you and just buy (or go to the library) and read the books.

IMHO he is far more accurate and more credible than any website.

Oh, I agree. I was saying that a lot of the good information out there is in books and under copyright...so if anyone tried to assemble such a website it would be very hard. I use almost exclusively books and rely very little on the internet.

I would also add that the books information will be generally more reliable than a website

Of course a fact can not be copyrighted - and while I know some of the big guys in coin collecting strongly disagree with that, and fight it, they really can't do much about it.

I guess if they want to sue you they will just have to prove that they were lieing, and that it really isn't what they said it was! LOL

I just think you have to be very careful if someone wanted to create a large online database full of information that was previously only available in books. It seems like one could easily get into trouble.
