I have a coin that has dei gratia 17796 carolus III on it i was wondering what the value would be of this one heres a pic
Your photos are not good but it's a 8 reales minted in Mexico. It also has chopmarks which means it was used in Oriental trade. Sedwick auctions currently has a few of this coin, which is valued at $100-$150. The chopmarks can either help or hurt you, depending on who is buying. Be aware that there are both comtemporary and modern fakes of this coin. Here's one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/1776-PIECE-OF-E...0?hash=item56355bf024&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
Can't see 'em well enough to say. Do you know what the coin weighs ? If you don't have a scale, you can get it weighed at a jewelry store. We need the weight to hundreth gram, like XX.xx grams.
