    Obverse: Royal Flycatcher at left center, arms at upper center, ascending serial number at upper right, and vertical ascending serial number at lower left, Kinegram at upper left corner
    Reverse: Orchidaceae Violacea Flower at enter, Centrale Bank Van Suriname at right center, beetle at right center
    Watermark: Letters "CBVS" (Centrale Bank Van Suriname) and the CBVS building
    Size: 140 x 70 mm

    This is my favourite Suriname note from my collection:

    Banknotes for the Dutch colony of Suriname were most often printed in the Netherlands, but WWII necessitated the exile government of the Netherlands ordering notes from American Banknote Company in New York. This lovely and colourful proof note was issued beginning in 1940 and was issued through 1942. This note is P-6p. This note is mounted and is from the ABNCo archives.

    She appeared on Ecuadorian, and El Salvador banknotes also.

    Looks pretty androgynous to me. But the hairstyle and the position of the feet ... OK, so he is a she. :)
