But, it is a fabulous coin. I agree, and I think it is a bit stretched - picture the same coin, but ventered. The area between the end of the design and the rim of the coin would be quite large. I thought broadstruck immediately... Without the collar to restrain it the planchet expands outward under the force of the strike to a size slightly greater than what it would have been in the collar. This is the first time I see it as a "broad strike" more than a "off center" if you ask me.
