The Red Book doesn't list any such variety, and since I don't collect U.S. coins I don't have any other references to check on.

A good quality picture of the date would be very helpful in trying to determine what you have.

I moved your posting here because it is more likely to attract the attention of a member who is knowledgeable about nickles.

Do not know of a 1929 d/s. However always a possible find for a sharp eyed Cherrypicker. Post pics if possible.

FYI ...I have a F-VF 1920 D and S Buff. S is to the right of the D. The S is pretty well effaced but it does show. Showed it to a certain Cherrypicker writer many years ago and he flipped. These things really happen. Good luck and keep a pickin. C.

I don't think that you'll find a reference on the variety since it is unlisted.
Both of you (including Constantino) should write & send them to Coin World.

No such animal that I'm aware of. Often times the Mint mark is distorted from eroded dies and appears to be something it's not. If you are fairly certain in your attribution send it to CONECA for verification.

I suspect that since the thread had died out over the years that such did not pan out. But sometimes a "rejuvenation" of the thread brings new information.
