I have this old Pervian medal, its silver and it commemorates the last battle for liberation from Spain in South America. But I do not know much if anything about it. Help kidzzzz ? :kewl: Traci
As you say, this medal celebrates the centenary of the battle of Ayacucho fought 1824 in the Peruvian Andes. Last battle which saw the ultimate defeat of the Spanish army, and cemented the independence of Peru from Spain. It was struck 1924 under the administration of Augusto. B Leguia, then president of Peru. I do not think its is rare, but certainly historical.
They also made 1866-1966 com coin of the sea battle .must were spent as 20 Sol to fine one Gem Bu is rare.
