They love to make it seem like everything they have in their inventory is the deal of a lifetime.

There are now quite a few "Coin Shows" on the satellite Direct TV. I have come across quite a few including the Coin Vault, where they were selling the 2009 Proof Set (all 18 coins) for below US Mint issue price with free shipping. They were a nickel below the sell price, but, these guys and others are making it increasingly hard to get your subscriptions from the mint. They are buying up all of the Mints offerings.

Anyway, sometimes you find good deals, sometimes (at most) you don't.

In this economy, its hard to for most to be able to just buy coins, at will.
I was happy that I got my Proof Set sent from the mint and waiting for the American Eagle Silver Proofs to finally come out.

Any word on the American Eagle Proof and uncirculated coins, doe anyone know what is going on there?

If what you are saying rings true, that would be terrible. The US Mint employees do not have a clue as to when the Silver AE will be released. One gave her best guess as to end of summer, into fall.

I swear I saw a coin show a few weeks ago - not sure which - where they offered the last 10 years of lincoln cents in PF70 for $199??? did anyone else see that? I am not sure who the grading company was, but 10 PF70 lincolns for $20 each...was I dreaming? I may have been half asleep....

If you look at reviews it has only a Avg. Customer Rating 2.4 seems to be some problems with holders and some coins and the numbering system from ANACS is different for HSN Coins. Still seems to be a good deal if all is good on coins you receive

well, sort of...

If you buy more than 1 set from the mint, the Coin Vault price is then higher than the Mint. Coin Vault is comparing their price to the mint price plus shipping. While the Coin Vault doesn't charge you for shipping, they really are on every set!

After factoring in the cost to get those coins graded, this guy's profit margins are lower than Danr (who flipped some rolls), yet Dan was lauded by most on here as doing the right thing, yet this person on TV, who is making less margin-wise than Danr, is a bad person? I don't get it.

p.s. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, but there seems to be a lack of consistency.

HSN has a deal with ANACS so the profit margin is most likely 100% +.

I also bet that the all came back PF70.

Compared to Dan's profit margin, 100% is low.

That said, I'll take that bet. How much would you like to wager?
