Came across this token many years ago. It seems to be a political token.
I would really appreciate some ID help and info on it please.
Thanks!

I've seen tokens like this one before but I don't have a clue about its origins. Maybe someone else on here will?
Ribbit![]()
I have a very similar coin except instead of MARTEN it is MARTIN. I have not been able to find out anything about it.
just googled this, "king martin the first the little magician" got this which is similar, the dates on obverse are in different places and the copy treated with a different typeface and of course this one has been plated.
Interesting. the one I have is much closer to the one shown in the first post. except for the spelling of Martin, dates are below the word President and above the Van Buren figure. - thanks for the post!
I have this same exact coin - but in a gold(?) metal.
If anyone has any information about it, would really appreciate it![]()
I searched through "US Tokens 1700-1900" (Rulau) but didn't find it.
I am in possession of that very Token myself. Would love to get "any" background on it.
Not sure if its Bronze or Gold, but its in pretty good condition!
Mine is Marten / Dates under "President (not right & Left of Head) like the one being sold from the Jewler one of you linked above (thx BTW)
Sine two versions, and since there is a 3rd (actual US currency), I'm assuming a knockoff, but the Jeweler seems to have an entire "line" of sorts... I wonder...LOL
