I think it's pretty rough you lumping Michael Jackson in with murderers, serial killers and Presidential assassins. He was found not guilty of the charges against him and regardless of how "creepy" he may have seemed thanks to the media's depiction of him (and granted some unusual behavior on his part) the fact is that he made a huge contribution to music across the world and actually put a lot of his time and money into charity organizations to help the poor and needy.

I'm not saying he deserves a coin (certainly not this one) but calling him the scum of the earth is the only really bad taste I see here.

Now if you were talking about a Phil Spector coin being released I could understand...

Also, the MJ coin looks like the sort of thing that the Morgan Mint product. They've done them in the past for Elvis and Marilyn Monroe - but it seems too early even for them to be putting something like this out...

Gee I wish I had though of it.... I will not speak ill of the dead! They cannot defend them selves..... However I do wish after hearing the first news release of Michael not breathing I had jumped on e bay and purchased every item I could afford. As any artist their passing makes a field day for those who wish to profit. To many it might not be right, but I have always felt that anything you do to make a legal buck to support your self or your family is nothing to be ashamed of! end of story. Paddy

Talking srry about the lumping MJ received frm me, lol

I didn't really meen it to sound as bad as it did, but those were the bad names that stuck out for the post i did, no he wasnt found guilty officially, but all the dirty laundry is starting to get hung out for the public to view, little by little each day, so only time will tell how guilty or innocent he really is. And yes EBAY thriller is going for 2,000 or so sealed, off the wall like 900, dolls a few hun, he double hockey sticks, newspapers about the day he died going for 10-100, so if you coiners have a lull in ur sales, better jump on this while the flame is hot. And I have an excellent site that searches missspeled words (catch that? lol) but it gave me like 50 diff ways to spell a couple things on this subject. Again I didn't mean to offend as bad as I did I'm sure, I like this community and don't wan't a bad mark. So if you want a great ebay tool or 2 let me kno if i post, or PM me if it's not ok, BTW... coppercoin.com in the links is EXCELLENT!!!!! as im sure alot of those are, but it's really good, and all those links add up to months of new content to dive into. Thanks for posting all the link sites every1 did. I bookmarked that thread right away.

I actually believe they have a form of false advertising here too, to add insult to injury. The coin has a digital image over the coin, rather than a real stamp of the coin with Michael Jackson on it.

A lot of people are accused of bad things all the time. If you pay them $20 Million to shut up it raises a load of suspicion in my eyes. Lump him with murders ? No. Lump him with suspected child molesters ? Yes. No Coin of any kind. Just My Opinion............................John

I think that Michael Jackson's life started with the 2 pathetic parents he had, and ended with him trying to reclaim his youth, working out with Lou the hulk, and a "candy" doctor to do a tour. I certainly do not want to judge him, but he is nowhere as bad as many of today's sports heroes for example. The real heroes of the world continue to work away in anonymous lives providing the means for the success the others obtain.

The coin may be fitting as it is a thin veneer of a person, who could have solved many problems for the world if his efforts had been focused on such.

good point there

Yes you do have a good point there, he was helping the world in the 80's with the we are the world and usa for africa, donating his time and energy to saving those that were less fortunate, so thats a point for the younger darker skinned unique MJ, 1 less point for the older lighter skinned uniquely looking MJ. I just have to say, I'm a child of the 80's so when I made the post, I was pointing it more towards the MJ we all know today, not the MJ that was breaking new ground in the 80's. I even had thriller on vinyl, was one of the millions that stayed up late to watch the making of and the MTV World premiere video/movie of THRILLER. So don't get me wrong, I don't have much respect for the latter one, but the earlyer one I have huge respect for, I just wish I/we all knew why and where everything went wrong with MR. BEAT IT. Billy Jean is looking for you, where did you go?

You know ITS bad, ITS bad-you know it
(bad bad-really, really bad)
You know ITS bad, ITS bad-come on, you know

Hey, if it sells it sells. What I think is disgusting is how the mainstream media over focuses on his death while horrendous legislation is being slipped through Congress and while a former congresswoman's ship was hijacked and she was thrown in prison.

No for that discussion you would have to go to politics and world religion forum. I personally think he does not deserve a coin - even a sticker on coin. To me that is like putting OJ on a coin - neither deserve it. But people in general will always eat up anything that has to do with stars - I mean how do you think certain magazines stay in business. Sheesh - I personally could care less and even less if they put them on coins. I would rather have a deceased president on a coin.
