Question Info On Mexican Coins

Is there a comprehensive website discussing and illustrating varieties of Mexican coins. Right now I'm looking for info on a 1954 5-Centavo Brass with or without dot. Thanks.

I'll restate my Question

Is this 5 Centavo Brass Mexican coin the variety WITH or WITHOUT a dot. I don't see a dot but then again I don't know where to look for one. Thanks.

Krause doesn't specify where the dot is/isn't; but since the Mexico City mint mark is described as an M with either a dot or a small "o" over it, and your mint mark is complete, my guess is that you have the dotted variety. Interestingly, 1954 is the only year of this 16-year type with the varieties, and with no mintage figures listed. Over a billion were struck in the succeeding 15 years.

I think the dot (s) are going to be just like the other type cinco centavos .... 1 before the date, and one after the date, spread apart quite a bit... Sounds logical that it's the same way with the other...

Probably has to do with the changeover in design.... the whole with and without dot variety...
