Well, this is my 3,000th post, and I've been a member here for nearly 3 years. I haven't held a contest since shortly after I first joined. I appreciate cointalk, and the fact that it has greatly inhanced my collecting experience. So here is a small token of appreciation. This contest is going to be a little different. Its going to be a photography contest. But NOT coin photography. Outdoor photography. Now when I say outdoor photography that could be a nature scene or a city scene, or whatever. Just any outdoor photography.
The rules are that everyone gets to enter only one photo. You should post a link to it in this thread. The pictures will be judged by myself and several people who I know in real life. Having most of the jugdes be people who aren't cointalkers should eliminate any possible bias. I will run this contest untill Friday, July 3rd. That should give plenty of people time to enter and/or go out and take their photos. Oh yeah, and you must have been a member here as of May 31 of this year. I think that covers everything. So, here are the prizes:

    1st place: A 1945 S PCGS MS66 RED Lincoln Wheat Cent.
2nd place: A 1942 P Walkling Liberty Half Dollar in around XF.
    3rd place: A 1972 Mint Set.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Congrats!
    I'm in.

I took this one last summer on my back patio. This praying mantis hung around our back porch for several weeks.

Well, obviously it can't be pornographic or anything like that. But yeah. It could be a building, an animal, a mountain, people walking down the street. Just about anything.
And yes, you should just post the link in this thread.

Here is mine... Taken by me at the zoo, I'm not a fan of zoos, or giraffe's but this was a photo I couldn't resist taking

"So Close and Yet So Far"
I thought this was neat, because the giraffe is HUGE, he is a giant, and yet, he couldn't even reach what he wanted!

I have much more photos, but this will be my entry
Thanks for the contest ;) CIMG2030.jpg

I suppose we take the picture ourselves and not one found on the internet? Will we have to prove it in any way that we were the ones to take it? :)

Haha good, did you climb the falls? and swim in them?

Climbed, but I don't think I swam. It was a long time ago. I took a really long horseback tour up into the mountains, which was pretty cool. Its definitely a place I have to go back to some day.
