Does the mint really get your coins to you within 2 weeks of payment?

So I was reading the guidelines for shipping on the mint website and they state that when you opt for 1 day shipping versus 2 weeks shipping and vice-versa your start time for shipment doesn't start until they take the money out of the account. So if I have 2 weeks shipping, and I order on 2-15-09 and they take the money out on 3-12-09, then I shouldn't expect to get the product until 3-26-09. The reason I ask is because my email conformation from 2-15-09 says that my order will not be shipped until 4-12-09, but I checked my account today, and the money was taking out.

So my question is really to those who have been through it, have you people out there who had the money taken out really gotten your order within the stated time frame, or did you have to wait months on end even after they took the money?

I want everyone to feel confortable talking about their own stories involved in shipping here too.

Sometimes orders do get shipped before the expected shipping date on the email they send you. But as far as I know they don't charge your card until they are ready to ship (in a few cases peoples cards have not been charged until AFTER the coins shipped,) So if your card has been billed chances are VERY good that you should have your coins shortly.

As I understand it, the Mint has contracted with Santa Claus to get the coins to the homes of the buyers (hey, he's got nothing else to do).
When he reaches your home the Easter Bunny jumps out and hides the coins somewhere in your yard (that's why no coin deliveries are signed for).
The ONLY way you know the coins are hidden close by is that the Easter Bunny leaves some bunny "pellets" on your doorstep.

In case you haven't guessed, I'm not impressed with the US Mint.

I thought the tooth fairy had something to do with it too.

That's what happened to me. Not a bad deal, if you think about it.

You have to differentiate between them actually charging your card (which in my case they've never done before shipping the coins) and placing a temporary authorization on your card which they do well in advance of shipping to make sure that the transaction will go through. Recently, I had a temporary authorization for the UHR double eagle coin which disappeared from my account before they actually charged me.
