My Mood: | NY Coin Show this Weekend
I'd like to meet at the NY Coin Show this weekend.
I'm thinking we can meet at Grand Central Station and get Dinner on Sunday, or we can meet for Breakfast or Both - Your Choice.
Anyone in?

So - I just got into town and I'm wondering if we have a plan to meet this weekend at the Waldorf show in Manhattan?

I'll be there tomorrow, Saturday, between 10 and 11 AM if I have no trouble navigating the MTA (Long Island Railroad) and the subway system. After all, I am but a humble provincial....

I went this morning. There were hardly any US coins there, and the few that I did see were all raw ASE's. You guys would probably hate it. But for me, it makes up for all of the other shows through the rest of the year where there's only one or two ancients dealers. It really was a banner show for me. Met a lot of dealers and gave my card to a number of them. Have a chance at a few good jobs too, I believe.
And what would a show be without coins?
AE Mystical Tessera of Ephesus
2.75 grams, 18.2 mm
1st-2nd century AD
Bee within ‘magical formulae’
KHPIΛIC ωΔE ΠPOC ΠAΛVPIN
Recumbent stag flanked by city’s initials
CKωΠI, E to l., Φ to r.
BMC Ionia-186, SNG Cop-355, SNG Von Aulock-1875
Ex Glen Woods
Note: This token originates from the major Greek cult center of Ephesus. The majority of the legends are as-yet untranslatable and are believed to be ‘magical formulae’ designed to rid the bearer of ailments or other troubles.
