The "Decorative Metal Discs" arrived safely today. They really do look much better in hand than they do in cyberspace. Thanks again for the contest, eddyk.

You couldn't just check the back of the 20 pence coin could you to see if I have accidentally sent you the now valuble 2008 mule error.

If it doesn't have a date please return it

I only have just found out about this error in the last few days...theyre selling on ebay for over £100 each one.

The Obverse of the old design was minted without the date...on the new design with the date.

New Obverse

New Reverse (as you know)

Old obverse and reverse....

An unknown number of 20p coins have been minted with the new reverse and old obverse.

Ebay coin

Thanks Eddy

i am going to go crazy for the last 6 months 8 hours a day i have been working on my collection. now ill have to go and look for this coin to see if i have it. i hope it wasnt put in any proof or silver or piedfort or anything like that.

i am getting scared to look at coins now. i recently got 3 black beauties as well 2 from george 5 and one from edward and about 20 coins of george 6 straight from the mint and about 200 other silver coins along with 2000 other coins from 1850-1950 and whole bunch of republic coins and i am beginning to quake under their weight. It will be a very busy year. i havent even cataloged them. sigh i needed to get that of my chest now i feel better

On ebay I checked the Locations...

2 from Wales (Where the mint is)
2 from Devon (south of england)
2 From Manchester (north of England)
1 from Scotland.

I work on a cash register, and I think I will be constantly checking these from now on then.

I wouldn't see it....it's just that a modern error coin coming from the UK is quite something in itself.

And if I do say so myself this type of error is one of the cooler errors.

Eddyk,

You didn't send me the mule. You're welcome to send one later, though.
