This question was controversial. The information I had found stated that one the half cent and the cent were produced during the first year of production, and that information was pulled off the web site of the US mint in Philidelphia. I too thought the Half Disme was part of the first years production. But I found more information saying that it wasnt.

You need to read a little more. If they were not official minted in 1792, them your answer for #8 is wrong. The Washington's silver was supposedly used to produce those coins.

A couple other questions;

Quote:
#9 Which Coin(S) did Adolph A Weinman Design?
Mercury Dime and Walking Liberty Half
Why is he not given credit for the ASE?

Quote:
#12 Name all of the US Mints, their years of operation, and the mint mark that represents each mint.

Philidelphia 1793-Date P
San Francisco 1854-Date S
Denver 1906-Date D
Charlotte 1838-1861 C
Carson City 1870-1893 CC
Dahlonega 1838-1861 D
West Point 1984-Date W
New Orleans 1838-1861 and 1879-1909 O
The SF mint was closed 1956 - 1968. I do not have time to find it now, bjut I believe that the Philadelpha mint was also closed for a year.

#15 The Mints Copper and Nickel supply was needed during the Second World War. Which substitute metals were used to produce coins, and which denomination(s) and dates were these substitute metals used?
1943 Steel One Cent
1944 and 45 Shell case Cents
1942-45 Silver Nickels
The "Shell Case" cents were also made in 1946 and, so far as I can tell, had nothing to do with saving copper or nickel.

You guys are forgetting one branch mint... Manila. It didn't coin actual US Currency, but it was an official branch of the US Mint.

I suggested that whoever put Manila should get extra credit. As far as I'm concerned, the things minted there are US currency - I mean, it says UNITED STATES OF AMERICA right on it!

I try to cite resources in answers that I am unsure of in hopes that it can return the educational favor. I also had Manilla and the 1/2 dismes. Although the dimes were supposedly not minted at the mint, but in some guys basement.(can't recall the name.)
