Hi, I've just started collecting Hungarian medieval. Anyone know where I might beable to get a copy of Lajos Huszar's "Hungarian coins since the year 1000" (preferably the German edition, not the Hungarian one) ?

    thanks
    J.

Nope, but thanks anyway. I've seen a copy on eBay but it went for €250 which is outside my budget for a book.

As you have discovered, Huszar is a difficult book to locate and frequently expensive. But it is well worth having, and I was very lucky to find an affordable copy very quickly when I first began collecting medieval Hungarian coins. They have become my principal area of collection and study, and I welcome a fellow Anglophone to the fold! There are a number of other catalogs on Hungarian medieval coins that are worth having, some of which are not expensive or hard to find. They are described in an article that I recently published in a coin magazine. Feel free to email me at any time to discuss any aspect of medieval Hungarian numismatics.
