    Howdy fellow coin peeps, :thumb:

I figured it was time for the Toad to have a contest and it's going to be a wing-dinger of a contest. :D

The contest is a scavenger hunt of sorts. Your job, should you accept, is to find the funniest auction on Ebay and post it here as your entry (auction link). Enter as often as you wish (edit original entry post to add additional entries) and you can even enter your own auction(s), as long as it is funny, and friends and family of CoinTalk are not excluded. :D Closed auctions may be entered but auctions already posted on CT, as of the start of this contest, are precluded from entry and no double entries are allowed, so make sure no one has posted your choosen entry prior to posting or it will count against you. :kewl:

Contest begins today and ends @ midnight PDT July 6th, 2008 (4th of July weekend) and the winners will be announced on July 13th, 2008 (one week after contest ends).

    Now, to the prizes:

    Numismatic Entries:

3rd Place - Counterfeit 1921-P Morgan Dollar (see pic)
    2nd Place - 1903-O Barber Quarter (MS-70 of course - see pic)
    1st Place - 1982-S Proof Washington Commemorative Half-Dollar (PR-70 of course - see pic)

    Non-Numismatic Entries:

3rd Place - Counterfeit 1787 Fugio Cent (see pic)
    2nd Place - 1899-P Barber Quarter (MS-70 of course - see pic)
1st Place - 1989-S Proof Bicentennial of the Congress Commemorative Half-Dollar (PR-70 of course - see pic)

The 1st place winner will have the option of downgrading and the 2nd place winner will have the same option and should the first place winner downgrade, the 2nd place winner may upgrade. :D The 3rd place winner basically gets what the 1st & 2nd place winners don't want. :mouth:

    Happy hunting! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Ps: I will announce the judges at a later date. :hammer:

    A true winner:

"Key Date 1921 LUSTROUS GEM BU Morgan DOLLAR SILVER COIN BU !!

These coins came from an Unponed Bank Mint Roll and they are BU UNC Condition.

This coin is not an ugly scrap coin that you often find up for sell on ebay. This is a true collector's coin. If you want the best for your collection don't miss out this coin. This is a true Gem mint, lustrous, extra clean, and very sparkly Key Date last year of Morgan Dollar. I haven't seen anything nice like this one on ebay for a long time."
    ----
Or, if the above is too rich for your blood, how about $125 for a lamination?

same seller, how about this one:
    A GEM BU CC $?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Key-Date-1884-CC...QQcmdZViewItem

cripes, it ain't even a CC, much less unc, much less an AG, perhaps a P-01?

I guess that the mint buffed this coin, and then engraved (scratched) the initials into the cheek.
