To my knowledge, Singapore Government issued their $20 polymer note to prefix 0AD, Where the Brunei just to A/2.

Prefixes are ...0AA,0AB,0AC and 0AD (Singapore)
A/1 and A/2 (Brunei)

One of the interesting things is why the prefixes of Singapore note do not follow with Brunei?

Compaire with Brunei prefix A/1 or A/2, the prefixes of Singapore $20 polymer should be 0AA, 1AA, 2AA and 3AA.

Anyone knows why?

I know many Singaporian collectors thought that preifx 0AC should be the last prefix of this series when MAS released stuffs on autions for the first time.

So, can we say OAD could possibly be the last prefix of this $20?
Or A/2 will be the last prefix of Brunei edition?

I found that Derrick once mensioned~
[Three million Singapore $20 polymer notes will be introduced into circulation gradually over a period through the banks.
The prefix should be from 0AA to 0AC. They released the rest for circulation but I think most of them will be snap up for collection if the mintage is only 3 million.]

However, now the prefix comes 0AD. In other words, total issue quantity would reach 4 million pieces which is not including prefix SGD.

Therefore, we can not say 0AC is the last prefix!
I think my question is focus on prefix and I am not introduce these notes.

Hi asteroid,

Initially there was some confusion due to the Singapore Mavin auction for solid number for these commemorative series of notes. I have confirmed this with the authority. There are 3 million notes issued for the Singapore $20. The prefix from OAA to OAD. There are those spolit ones during printing. As for the solid numbers ones, the prefixes are from OAA to OAC e.g. OAC 555555. There is no solid number for OAD. As for the Brunei $20, there is only 1 million pieces which contain A/1 to A/2. Only A/1 has the solid numbers e.g. A/1 555555. I hope it clear some doubt over the prefixes. You can say that both OAD and A/2 are printed solely as replacement. But all in all, there are 3 million pieces for Singaproe and 1 million pieces for Brunei.

Well, as you mension, if we accept 0AD or A/2 as replacement prefix, how can we know there is no solid number notes amoung them?

At least, there may have 0AD000001 or A/2 000001(fancy number/low number).
Could it be said that MAS or BCMB will destroy them during printing?

First of all, polymer banknote printing have a much higher percentage of error during the printing process. The error can be from 30% to 50%. I have confirmed with Mavin International, OAD do not have any low serial number, solid numbers or any special numbers. They simply do not print them. I believe it is a selective printing. It is different from the conventional paper printing. It is the same for the Brunei $20 A/2 prefix.

I did asked about how were those golden numbers ( low serial 1-10, solid number 111111 - 999999 ) printed. They were specially printed. This ensure that all of the banknotes do not have errors.

The golden numbers were auctioned off in the Mavin Auction ( www.mavininternational.com ). The passed auction catalogues are available for viewers. Here is a list of Mavin Auction No. 16 which auctioned off the Singapore first prefix OAA solid numbers and the realised prices. I did not managed to win them as the prices are beyond my reach. But luckily, I managed to win the Singapore $20 last prefix OAC 555555 and the Brunei $20 First and ony prefix A/1 555555 for the world 555555 collection.
