Another eBay scam...Please report!

Hey C.T. Folks,

I came across the linked Auction below while searching 1909 VDB Cents! I thought that I had seen the pictures of the coin before and did some checking and was right. The pictures were copied off PCGS' Coinfacts website and the Seller is apparently trying to run a scam. Although not listed as a 1909-S VDB, the Seller is hoping that some unsuspecting Collector/Buyer/Bidder will come along and see the pics, note that it is a 1909-S VDB and bid on it. The Winning Bidder/Buyer will then get a 1909-P VDB Cent (probably circulated) or nothing at all. If you feel that this is a scam, then please report it.

Seller's eBay Auction link:

Link to Coinfacts with pictures of the same coin:

I just asked the seller a question. Should be an interesting reply if I get one.

"Would it be possible to get some bigger pictures of that coin?
Thanks,"

Ya gotta love the lazieness shown by leaving all the Paypal logos in the template, while putting in large type that it isn't accepted.

Wow I got a response to my question already!

"I can't get them any bigger but you can save the picture if you want and zoom in on it".

Should I just refer him to the site he originally stole the picture from?

Couldn't help myself guys. Just sent him another message and YES I have reported him as well.

"Thanks for the quick response.

I was just kind of curious as this coin looks SO much like a coin that I saw on a very reputable site.
Course that one is an SVDB. Jeepers! Yours is too!"

Let the fur fly!

If I remember correctly in all these Ebay changes in the last month... all sellers with feedback less than 10 or something have to list paypal as a payment option... In that case he isn't lazy, he's just is trying to run around a rule! One can flag him for "inappropriate payment method"

I ALSO EMAILED HIM & GOT AN ANSWER within a minute. He said, " How can this be fraud. I am holding it in my hand right now" Sure he is a 1909vdb. I wrote him back and told him what he is holding.

Not long ago, I found a guy (Seller A) selling 1+ carat Diamond Solitaires on eBay but he was copying pictures from another Seller's (Seller B) Auctions! I reported him to the Seller (Seller B) only to find out that the guy (Seller A) was purchasing some of this Seller's (Seller B) Diamonds then putting them back up for auction. The Diamonds were heat treated to clear up inclusions and carbon and to give them more clarity which was disclosed by Seller B but the guy (Seller A) reselling them, was not disclosing this information. It never amazes me at what lengths crooks will go to make money dishonestly!
