Any information about coin-melting?

Just wondering, if there are any indexes of coins survived from melting from original mintage? I mean, in general terms? Saying, a Mercury dime with mintage 200 mln, how many of them can exist now? in 50 years?

Any official info about melting old silver coins to mint new ones?
