Trivia: Millennium Coins Part 1

It's now 2008, eight years after the 2nd Millenium. Is it time you started collecting the world's coinage of 2000?
You may want to start with North American coinage: (many images courtesy of Gatewest Coin)
CANADA:

Instead of collecting individual business strike coinage collect the sets:

2000 Oh Canada Mint Set

The 2000 O'Canada Set includes all of the standard issue coins for 2000. Struck in a base metal, with a proof-like finish.

This set contains the 1ct, 5ct, 10ct, 25ct Caribou, 50ct, Loon $, and the $2 Polar Bear.

The coins in this set are struck with a proof-like finish, and are presented in a hard plastic holder.

2000 Polar Bear Uncirculated P-L Mint Set
This set, sealed in a soft plio plastic, consists of select uncirculated proof-like examples of regular issue Canadian coinage.

All coins in this set bear the special 'W' mint mark, as the first run of production for 2000 was minted in Winnipeg, at the Winnipeg Branch Mint.

This means that every coin in this set is a type coin in its own right, and different from normal circulating coinage.

2000 Tiny Treasures (Baby) Set Ottawa (No Mint Mark
The 2000 Tiny Treasures (Baby) Set includes all of the standard issue coins for 2000. Struck in a base metal, with a proof-like finish.

This set is designed to commemorate the birth year of a child. It represents a baby's first coin set.

This set contains the 1ct, 5ct, 10ct, 25ct Caribou, 50ct, Loon $, and the $2 Polar Bear.

The coins in this set are struck with a proof-like finish, and are presented in a hard plastic holder....

There are four special Limited Edition Millenium fractional coins that were struck in Canada. Like any of these?

2000 Proof 10 Cent Silver Desjardins

Composition: .925 silver .075 Copper
Weight: 2.4 grams
Daimeter: 18.03 mm

This sterling silver proof 10ct coin is struck to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Caisse Populaire (a major, private Canadian Banking Institution).

The 19th Century building on the reverse of the coin is the first branch of the bank, and the 10ct denomination was chosen because the first deposit in 1900 made at the Caisse Populaire was a 10ct coin.

The mintage on this piece is limted to 70,000 coins worldwide. However, only a small fraction of that number is available in the collectors' market, due to the purchase of almost 50,000 coins by the Caisse Populaire for their own use and for their customers.

Okay, why not just quarters. You've got the 1992 set with all the provinces and territories except Nunivit, then the 56 state quarters, then you can do Bermuda, Belize, the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, Barabados and the East Caribbean territories. I think that Cuba and the Dominican republic have quarter-sized coins as well.

2000 was the second year of the Millennium quarters. There were also 12 different reverses released in 1999 as well, one for each month.
