Hi All, You metal detector folks, have you ever found any gold pieces? I would think that a find like that would be a highlight of your metal detecting lifetimes. I just love reading about the stuff that you guys find. Jim C must be the master of all metal detecting experts. I had a detector when I was a child but didn't do much with it. I found a very nice men's gold wedding ring. I'm still trying. I have found quite a few silver coins, including one silver dollar, and one high grade Barber half dollar. Plus quite a few pieces of gold jewelry. They are out there. Few and far between. Ya never know though. Could be in the next hole dug. Thats the fun of detecting. Ya never know whats gonna be in the next hole. I did just send a few gold rings I found over the years, in for melt value. I have made a lot of great finds but never a gold coin. Won't give up til I drop over. You never know what you will find and that keep me going.
