why dont you shop around on flea bay and compare the noted there to the ones you are seeing in the lady's shop that should give you some idea then you can decide if the note you saw on the sop is worth pursuing at the $75 price.

Black Eagles are dated 1899. 1923 would be a "horseblanket". A $1 Silver Certificate with George Washington on the front.

Either way from your description $75 is way too much. Do some looking and maybe a bit of reading.

i would let it slide. if it is a balck eagle dated 1899, the price is too hugh for such worn condition as you described. if it is a 1923 funny back horseblanket - then it is way to high. i would let it go.

You should ask how much they are paying for them. You can get the Peace Dollars online in bulk for less than $14 a piece (circulated that is).

$14.20 right now. $13.70 if you buy a 100 or more.

They state "Selling for as low as $0.99 over melt value! Off Quality, Cull, Damaged, Cleaned, Polished, etc! (Dates from 1878 - 1935)" so I wouldn't expect key dates or anything that is worth more than melt.
