Ruben,the 1971 $1/2 is not silver.It is copper-clad cupro-nickel.

1964 kennedy halves are 90% silver. 1965-1970 is 40% silver. 1971-present is clad.

Would have a pure copper core with clad layers that are 75% copper, 25% nickel. Overall by weight it would be about 88% copper, 12% nickel.
