I don't think this is a doubled die. The anomaly doesn't match any of the devices of the coin. In other words, the anomaly looks too straight to be a doubled part of the tree. It is interesting though. Could it be a struck-thru wire with the wire still intact on the surface?
It is a die break . This looks similar to a die gouge but the die crack is easily seen starting out from the rim of the coin and getting wider towards the center. die breaks and die gouges are fairly common on our newer coins.
) thank you for the 25 cent , but I'm not a seller I'm just a collector, I'm not selling it even for $1000 )))))
thank you i sent the photos to an expert work for PCGS I got this answer : "The Connecticut quarter has a reverse die break which is fairly common due to all the engraving in that area of the coin." i payed $10 to get the answer :thumb:
Why did you pay $10 to get an answer you got for free a couple of posts ago? I wish I had money to burn.
When one spends his own money i do not think anyone else should ask of him why. This is a freedom we should all respect even when we disagree with it. Heck ive done it so often ive thought about adding IN GOD WE TRUST after my name.
