The things you find in rolls...

    Hello everyone,

Recently, I found in several penny rolls, 11 Canadian pennies, 7 dimes, 1 Korean coin, 1- 2 cent Euro coin, and 2- 2016 batteries! 2 of the dimes are stuck together (I'm thinking super glue), and I'm just waiting for the day I open a roll and a whole bunch of washers fall out.

I know I'm not the only one to find such things in the rolls, so post up your 'other treasures' for us to see!

You know, it wouldn't be too bad if I could still use the batteries!

I have found those batteries in reject slots in coinstars, but the best is when you find them in Brinks rolls - yup.

Yesterday, in two bags of Kennedy Halves, I found about $10 in various loose change (non half dollars), a cheap black cross pendant, and a 5.5 gram 14k gold wedding ring. Probably the strangest non-coin item I've ever found in a bag (usually it's just guitar picks, rubber bands, and car wash tokens.)

The wedding ring would be cool to find. Was there any Diamonds in it?

No, just a plain men's wedding band. Has about $150 worth of gold in it.

Yesterday I roll searched some cents and came upon a roll that had a larger coin in it, I thought it would be another British penny, but alas it was a French 10 Franc from 1957.

In the Eurozone may happen to get a Lincoln cent instead of 2 eurocent. Same color, same size.
What's the year on the Italian 2 cent? I can't see it well, but it seems a 2003 that is a semi key.

I have only managed to find one Italian 2 cent coin, lots of French and German though. My oldest Italian find, in a five cent coin roll - 1913 20 centesimi - the flying nude coin - in a nickel roll. I was very pleased to find a then 99 year old and very attractive coin.

you'd be surprised how many people put those batteries in coin machines. I work at a bank and am always helping people with the coin machine ( to see if they have any good coins i can snatch up before they get eaten up) and i always find batteries in there pile or else in the reject bin inside the coin machine.

I found a dime in a penny roll. And a smashed up penny. It really bothers me how many Canadian cents I've gotten. If that Canadian cent wasn't in there, it could be replaced by a 1909 S VDB:mad: 100E2834.jpg 100E2836.jpg

Ah, learned how to put your message into my post!

I never grumble about getting Canadian pennies because you never know, what if you happen to stumble upon a dot cent (1936)? So far, in the penny coin rolls I've found all those crazy things in, I've also found a 1935 and 1937 Canadian penny. I do the same routine as when I find a Wheat penny facing back up. I pick it up, close my eyes and say a small prayer that it's a dot cent (if Canadian) or a 1943 copper penny. Of course, it never is, but the excitement is high and the fun is what it's all about. Finding something is just a bonus. I like the excitement of it all and learning about all these things.

Your penny is nice. I've never found one like that before!

    Happy hunting!

I totally agree with the wheat penny wishing. Yeah, Canadian cents are ok but since I don't tend to get very many rolls at one time it sort of limits my findings, but I'll stay optimistic and keep my eye out for a rare one! Happy hunting to you too :)

    Hello everyone,

Isn't it cool? It's almost like opening a box of Cracker Jacks because one never knows if there's a surprise in a roll, and what kind of a surprise it is.

My recent finds are coins from Panama, Australia, and Barbados. This is fun! panama coin in roll.jpg australia coin found in roll.jpg barbados coin found in roll.jpg

They're not worth much at all, but I find joy in discovering these coins and such. I used to be a malacologist before this, and it didn't matter if the shell I found was rare or not. It was the 'doing' that was the joy. Finding anything was just the bonus. Even if I never found a shell, just being out there in the ocean was a reward in itself.

    Hello again,

If someone would please help me. How do I find what posts I've already made so I can add on to them? So far, the only way I've been doing it is to look at my old emails. Had I not enabled the email notifications, I wouldn't have been able to add on anything I'd posted before.

    Thank you

The weirdest things I have found in BWR are plastic play cents, and those little clear plastic counters that tellers use in coin trays in the bank.
