X-Men... *I would post the real X-Men images next to the coins, but they are copyrighted :rollling: This skull actually reminds me of the Punisher skull (but it's not) *I posted these on another forum this morning, but thought I would share these with you guy's as well. :thumb:
Yep... This is about the same reponse I got from the other forum. - What can I say, I just have weird taste!
magneto is good wolverine is excellent on minimalistic use i like it the skull does look like punishers nightcrawler and juggernaut suck but i couldnt do any better older comics are cool havent collected any in about 10 years
I posted my X-Men Hobo nickels over here so you guys could check them out. This is my favorite comment: "nightcrawler and juggernaut suck". - Actually, compared to the pictures, these portraits are dead on. Hopefully some people can respect the fact that these are hand carved one of a kind creations, and each piece took hours of work. - Or that the artist is a single mother who uses her Hobo's and paintings to support her daughter and herself. These are some of my most favorite modern hobo nickels in my collection. - Thanks for looking.
sorry i respect what other people collect and to me my statement was my opinion. there are many artist drawings on this subject some i like some i dont. my choice of words was and is true. if you like it collect it. if an honest opinion is not what you are looking for dont post it. nightcrawler looks like a bad Joker from batman and juggernaut looks like a drunken hillbilly zombie. and yes i couldnt do any better and i dont want too. I have collected comics for over 30 years (xmen are one of my favorites)
No harm done cashforcoins. I understand that this is an online forum and anyone can say anything. It was actually kind of comical! A long while back Marvel had a short lived series called The Druid. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2010/05/13/comic-book-legends-revealed-260/ , Actually if you google "The Druid Comic" on google images you can see better results.
This is a new acquisition from Carrie that needs better photos. Perhaps I will have time next weekend.
Not bad, I always wanted to carve some Hobo Nickels. I even bought a cheapo machine over at Harbor Freight, never got around to it though. Busy all the time so far, I hope to carve at least a hand full.
Must be hard carving modern nickels since they are in such low relief. It doesn't give modern artists much material to work with.
I have been thinking about doing this as well. Seems like a fun hobby, and I have lots of good original ideas. - Are you talking about that dremel set up with the stand, that holds what you're working with in place? Medoraman, did you know this is not an ancient thread? - LOL Good to see you here, and thanks for looking! :thumb:
They are neat. Thanks for posting them. It would be an interesting project to attempt a carving. I imagine that your eyes would start to strain after awhile though.
That's actually really cool! I also love comics and the super hero/villain factor. I also love hobo nickels and hobo art. So neat!
Here is the new Spider-Man images. Very hard to capture it correctly, it looks so much better in hand...
