Ok another silly thing i've been doing, each month I take a chance on a "fuzzy" pic buy from ebay for this month I found this nice 1896 morgan toner. Pic not really fuzzy just real bad lighting, we'll see what my $35 bought in about a week
So I'm not the only one that gambles on bad eBay pictures/descriptions. My best one is a book of Lincoln Cents(09-58) missing only the 09-s VDB and the 14d. Description was Lot of Lincoln cents. Had the 09-s, xf 15s, xf 24d, vf 31s plus a few others I kept. Paid $213 for he book, sold the majority of them back on ebay(with good pictures) and kept he ones I needed for my album. Even after selling he coins I got about a dozen free coins and made $60. I love me a little gambling
OK, here's my score. Seller's crappy pics, looks like it's covered in mud. The coin arrived today. Here's what it looks like, no tweaking at all. Turns out the mud is a gorgeous coppery-gold. :thumb: It's also of a goodly grade. Easy 66, maybe 67. So it's going off to the slab factory for my registry.
Bought this on eBay a couple summers ago. There was no reverse pic and the pic of the obverse only showed a little brown haze at the bottom, no colors. I paid $2.95 for it shipped.
As long as it is actualy 90% you well in the green Did a little color manipulation on my pic above. We'll see how close I came once it gets here and i can snap a good pic. Just checked the tracking on this, should be in tommorow morning
Very happy with my new toner. Colors brighter in hand then pic real sky blue and almost orange red. I'm very happy for $35
Its just a Bullion round, from Golden State Mint, you can find them all over ebay. Just search Standing Liberty 1oz round.
eBay will be great place if the seller aren't specialized seller. Specialized seller will know what they are selling and usually manipulated the picture. greatsoutherncoin is our best role model for manipulated pictures. However, the high chance you will able to get great coin for a buck would come from a seller that aren't specialized in coins, but random selling. I did once buy 1973-1978 mint sets for $25 included shipping cost from a seller who sell random things. After look through mint sets, 1974 mint set contained 1974-D Kennedy DDO. I was happy and start buying mint sets from sellers who sell random things. Those sellers are your best way to get a great coins in right price.
