I'm afraid I don't see any clashes, but I'm curious to know if you meant there are five separate clashes (events) or if five elements of the design were transferred from one clash. Chris
pic 1 has 5 moonline clashes, 2 has the eye clash, 3 has the upside down u, 4 has 5 volunteers, 5 is a double talon head. also has the jawline. http://www.ikegroup.info/?page_id=25
Great clashed Ike Riff! I like it!! And you're correct, while clashed Ike's are not rare, that many clashes on one Ike must at least be scarce. Good find.
each separate line is a different clash. two of them are really close to others, so it looks like three in the pic.
yes. according to the article on the ike group, the presses they used in denver couldnt handle the weight of the large planchets, and would start to loosen from the first strike. you can see in the talon head pic, there are two sets of the clash marks. they would rotate.at least that is what i got from the article.
" The Columbia presses were severely taxed by the large, heavy Ike planchets and thus began to fall out of adjustment and develop some slop in their movements from the very first strike."
