Carole Lombard war services medal for sale on Ebay - $50,000

Most people now would not recognize the name Carole Lombard, but she was a well-known movie star of the 1930's.

She was married to Clark Gable, another well-known movie star of the period.

She was killed in an airplane crash in January 1942 after participating in a war bond sales drive.

A Liberty Ship was named after her in 1944.

I doubt whether the seller of the medal will get $50,000, but here is the Ebay listing, ending July 5.

It's worth a view or two to catch up on some of Carole's 'screw ball' comedy's (Mr. & Mrs. Smith comes to mind) but I'd lose that e-bay auction real quick......and I don't mean by bidding on it.

If they want 50 G's they should try the show "Hollywood Treasures" if they want that much. IMO

What's bad is I know who she was and she died almost 20 years before I was born. I love old movies. And old music, and old radio programs, lets face it I was born in the 60's and grew up in the 30's

    From Ebay:
Bidding has ended on this item.

I think the only problem was his price was too high. I could see it possibly being a $1K item, but not $50K.
