Well, I'm tired of scrounging around ebay and local coin store waiting for my last Franklin upgrade so I thought I would begin the Barber Dime quest. Quick question, when I search for "The Complete Guide to Barber Dimes" by David Lawrence, the price on Amazon is ridiculous-anywhere from $79-$99! What's the deal-why the price hike? If there's another reference guide, please let me know. I know there's the investing guide for barber dimes but this title didn't sound too much of a reference/historical context book. Thanks for the help, Dimeguy.

See if your local dealer has one that you can borrow, I do it all the time for books that I am having a hard time finding. If you are a regular enough customer, they don't seem to mind.
Rats, beat me by 30 seconds. I was so proud of myself for finding a used copy of an old edition of the Quarters guide, and then I found that all three (dimes, quarters, halves) are available online. Sigh.
Dimeguy, here is a site that also may help. It is rarity ratings based off of surveys done in the BCCS. http://www.barbercoins.org/BarberDimesSurvey.html
