Ok, here some Mexican peso varieties of the 70's and 80's for those who are like myself interested in such things. 1972 Type 1 Open Collar Gap between Ear and Hair Line
LOL, some one told me you were knowledgeable about Mexican coins. I came across this thread while looking for the solution on the 1970 Peso Wide Date vs Narrow Date. You don't have it listed in this thread but I did find the answer. On http://www.coincommunity.com a user posted to do a search on "Mexico Un Peso KM460 type identifier". In doing so I found this link Mexico Un Peso KM460 Type Listing. (While searching on another mexican coin found out another cointalk user made the KM460 page.) Another page that I've found useful is http://www.anythinganywhere.com/commerce/coins/coinpics/varieties.htm. I figured I'll share this info here for others in the future. Great info JBlonde Thanks!
The link in the previous post for "Mexico Un Peso KM460 Type Listing" is broken. Here is the corrected link to that page.
I'm not seeing the difference between the open and closed collars. I have found the open numeral varieties several times. I'm always searching for the base metal proof coins from the 80s or 90s that catalog for 45 dollars plus or minus. I can never find them. Once ebay had a graded one for 95 dollars but it was too much for me.
